PGS Italy boasts its own International Structure, PGS International. In 1990, the island of Malta hosted the first edition of the International Salesian Youth Games, which take place annually in a different country among those that are part of PGSI. The International Games are a sports competition divided into 4 disciplines, open to girls and boys divided into 2 age categories. The aim is to periodically create an opportunity for meeting, cultural exchange, socialisation and spiritual reflection through sport, which in perfect Salesian style becomes an instrument for promoting far play, peace, solidarity and values such as respect, freedom, justice and friendship.

After the obligatory stop in the years dominated by the pandemic, we start again with Genoa 2024.

This is not the first time the city has hosted the International Games, which were also held here in 1992, in conjunction with Expo 1992, a key event in the city’s history organised to mark the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ first voyage, who sailed from Genoa.
